Quantity Surveyor - Glasgow

We are assisting a leading provider of innovative prefabricated MEP solutions, serving a wide range of industries, with a commitment to enhancing project efficiency, sustainability, and quality. Due to continued growth, the organisation is in need of an experienced Quantity Surveyor for Decarbonisation projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all financial and contractual aspects of projects from inception to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered within the budget and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
1. Reporting to the Commercial Head, you will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects, including labour and materials, and providing accurate cost forecasts and financial projections to support project planning and decision-making.
2. Review and manage contracts and subcontracts, ensuring that all parties adhere to contractual terms and conditions.
3. Manage contract negotiations, variations, and claims, and resolve any disputes that arise.
4. Monitor and control project costs, tracking expenditures and ensuring they align with the approved budget.
5. Prepare regular financial reports, including cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and final account statements, providing detailed analysis of financial performance.
6. Assist in the procurement process by preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring that procurement activities are carried out in a cost-effective and compliant manner.
7. Work with the project team to identify and address any financial challenges that may impact project delivery.
8. Act as the primary point of contact for financial and contractual matters with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders, maintaining effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in quantity surveying within construction with a focus on Decarbonisation projects.
3. Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles, JCT, NEC, and FIDIC forms of contract management, cost control methods, and best practices.
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
5. Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage client and stakeholder relationships effectively.
6. High attention to detail and accuracy in all financial and contractual matters.
7. Ability to travel in Ireland, UK, and other EU countries when required.
8. Clean UK Driving License.
