Are you an experienced Plumbing Lecturer looking to pass on your skills and knowledge to the next generation? If so, we want to hear from you!
Our Abingdon campus is looking for a dedicated plumbing lecturer to support and train our students. An experienced lecturer will focus on the delivery of full-time study programmes for predominantly 16-18-year-olds and our highly regarded full-cost evening courses.
The candidate will support full-time students in developing their workplace skills that are in high demand, such as punctuality, teamwork, and communication, with the goal of progressing our students into their chosen next step, whether it be a higher level of study at college, university, an apprenticeship, or full-time employment.
You will work in our purpose-built teaching spaces, be they workshops or classrooms, alongside our experienced team of trainers who cover plumbing, electrical installation, and testing, as well as Site Carpentry and Joinery. Working as part of an enthusiastic and highly committed team, you will engage with students in both the classroom and workshops.
If you have not taught or demonstrated practical skills before, do not worry - no teaching qualifications are necessary! We will help you to qualify if you want to. What we ask is that you are enthusiastic and passionate about transferring your skills to the next generation of industry professionals. We can teach you to teach!
If you are already an experienced lecturer, our award-winning Teaching Skills Academy will help you further develop your teaching skills, and our Leadership Development Academy can support you into management if that is your next step.
For the right candidate, this post could be available on a fixed-term or permanent basis, with full or part-time hours.
Although a teaching qualification is an advantage, training opportunities exist within the College, and we can support you in gaining your Award in Education and Training Level 3 Qualification (AET) within your first year of joining the college.
In return, Abingdon & Witney College offers excellent benefits to our employees, including generous pension and holiday schemes, continued professional development, flexible working options, corporate gym membership, cycle/tech scheme, and much more.
