ADAS Project Engineer (968)

We are recruiting for an ADAS Project Engineer for one of our automotive clients based in Cranfield. You will be working for a globally recognised automotive company. This is a long-term contract role. The contract is on an ongoing basis and may run for several years.
Key Responsibilities of the ADAS Project Engineer:
1. Support/lead ADAS development project management role.
2. Material for and host key development milestone ADAS step review.
3. Support issue resolution towards ADAS specification fix.
4. Manage schedule of development and test through to delivery for all ADAS components.
5. Manage cost and application of all ADAS components.
6. Support/lead ADAS component cost reduction activities.
7. Generate cost reduction ideas for ADAS components.
8. Manage testing and application schedule.
9. Support/lead ADAS quality up activities.
10. Identify through various sources key areas to improve ADAS systems and components.
11. Find evaluation routes and gather scenario data.
12. Share investigation results and proposal of improvement.
13. Development management documentation changing content definition, schedules, results, DA, review presentation for design and cost.
14. Cost reduction ideas generated, and ideas implemented.
15. Quality study analysis investigation report and proposal.
Qualifications & Experience for the ADAS Project Engineer:
1. Be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
2. Have understanding of vehicle AD/ADAS systems and its development.
3. Have fluent written and verbal English language capability.
4. Have experience of software application into vehicle ECUs in the manufacturing environment: flashing, coding/configuration, and calibration.
5. Be able to risk assess software modifications and develop appropriate test plans.
6. Understand network communications and multiple bus principles (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
7. Be able to operate CANalyzer, CAPL, CANoe, CANape, Matlab software or similar for capturing data, analysis of data and preparing/executing test procedures.
8. Be able to follow system circuit diagrams and identify electrical connections.
9. Be able to demonstrate and have practical experience in problem solving tools and techniques.
10. Hold a valid UK driver's license and be able to pass driver training in order to drive vehicles for ADAS evaluation.
Experience:
1. Have relevant experience in automotive electronic system development, completing a minimum of two vehicle developments, or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
2. Have excellent written and verbal communication.
3. Be able to travel abroad or within the UK, occasionally a few days, but on very rare occasions travel may be long distance and for up to 10 weeks at short notice.
4. Competent with PC applications, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
5. Self-motivating and self-managing. Pro-active, energetic personality and flexible regarding working practice and working hours.
6. Ability to prioritize and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously.
