Job Overview BETSI CADWALADR UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD Wrexham Maelor Hospital Specialty Doctor in Anaesthesia & Critical Care The Anaesthetic Department services a variety of surgical specialties including the regional Upper GI service as well as providing support to the Critical care Unit and Obstetric Unit. There is a well developed Pre operative assessment unit, including CPET, Prehabilitation and a Pain Management service. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will provide anaesthesia for a variety of lists as outlined in the job plan but this can be negotiated depending on the interests and experience of the successful candidate and the needs of the department.. The on call commitment is to the resident on call rota currently 1:8 There is an active teaching programme both within the Department and across North Wales. Responsibility for health care in Wales is devolved to the Welsh Government, and the post will governed by the terms and conditions of the Welsh Specialty Doctors contract. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Full Registration with the GMC with a License to Practice Primary FRCA or equivalent Desirable criteria FRCA or equivalent Post-Graduate Prizes Essential Criteria Clinical Skills and Training Basic training in general anaesthesia, including paediatrics, and having attained Initial competencies. Basic training in ICM and attained initial competencies.
