Job Description
To provide care and support to both adults and children with autism and/or learning disabilities who exhibit a variety of behaviours that cause concern. To lead the team around the adult or child, Keywork the individual and provide supervision and other support measures to the team.
Responsibilities
* To provide direct support and Keywork service users who display behaviour that causes concern. Working as a team to manage the behaviour and to enable them to participate in a wide range of activities in the community to support social inclusion.
* To support and be a keyworker to adults within their own home in the local community, accessing community facilities and enabling them to maintain their tenancy.
* To support and be a keyworker to children living at home, supporting them to reach their potential, be part of their community and maintain family relationships.
* To support and be a keyworker to children and young people living in residential care supporting them to reach their potential, be part of their community and maintain family relationships.
* To provide support and supervision to support workers within the service.
* To uphold social work values and to ensure good working practice including understanding and awareness of health and safety.
* To promote the independence and develop the skills of service users and assist with all tasks necessary to ensure positive life experiences and maintain their tenancy.
* To work positively with other agencies, parents, support workers, and other services to ensure a quality provision of care for service users.
* To ensure that the living environment of the service users is clean and appropriate to meet each individual’s needs.
* To participate in regular and ongoing training relevant to the needs of the service users.
The Individual
* Previous experience in completing Keyworker responsibilities
* Previous experience in working in Social care
* Willingness to undertake HSC SVQ level 3 & PDA in supervision (adults) CYP SVQ level 4
* Willingness to undertake further training as required.
* Registration with the SSSC once in post

* Experience of community participation
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Previous experience in a supervisory role.
* Experience of working in social care

* Ability to carry out duties that involve personal care of service users.
* Ability to carry out moving and handling duties in line with health and safety regulation and risk assessment.
* Ability to support service users with physical activities such as swimming, hydro therapy etc.
* Must be able to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service
* The ability to deliver agreed interventions for managing behaviour that causes concern, e.g.
* BSS,SCIP, CALM etc.
