This Business Development Manager based around the Cambridge region will be responsible for driving the growth of this well known, household brand – Energy Storage & charging solutions, which include Battery, EV charging & Solar. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver top-tier solutions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the Energy storage & renewables market, excellent sales acumen, and a passion for renewable energy technologies
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to increase market share for the company’s Energy Storage & charging solutions.
Identify and target new business opportunities, including partnerships, strategic alliances, and potential clients.
Work to develop relationships with merchants, distributors, contractors and installers.
Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including commercial clients, government entities, and industry partners.
Collaborate with marketing, product development, and technical teams to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives.
Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities and threats.
Achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs, contributing to the overall growth of the company.
Provide regular reports on business development activities, progress, and forecasts to senior management.
Experience & Skills Required
Proven sales experience selling renewable products, ideally Battery Storage or EV charging solutions.
Familiarity with supplier networks, particularly within wholesalers, merchants, distributors & contractors.
Strong knowledge of the UK and European renewable energy markets for Electrical and renewable products and components.
Excellent communication, negotiation and management skills.
Ability to analyse market trends and develop cost-effective strategies.
Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
Target & results driven with excellent time management skills.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
