Reporting to the Head of Quality & HSE for Nordex UK and Ireland, you will provide advice and guidance to our site teams across predominantly UK and potentially Ireland on all matters relating to HSE legislation.,
* Providing advice to the operational teams with respect to UK legislation and other industry requirements
* Providing constructive suggestions on how processes can be improved and work on specific process improvement actions as part of the Nordex UK/Ireland, and Nordex corporate HSE teams.
* Building strong working relationships with clients, windfarm managers and key stakeholders
* Performing audits and join inspections with the operational management teams and assisting in developing and managing action plans.
* Assisting operational managers in the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses and unsafe behaviour / conditions, and the determination and implementation of suitable corrective and preventable actions
* Drive to close out actions raised via the companies HSE consultation process
* Liaising with Quality specialists on topics where quality defects may lead to safety or environmental risks
* Ensuring lessons learnt are effectively communicated
* Championing communication on HSE matters
* Contributing to the HSE monthly review, including information on accidents, incidents, training, legal updates and open / closed issues
The ideal candidate will hold an Occupational Health & Safety Diploma and have good understanding of the requirements of ISO14001 and ISO45001 and have significant experience of working in a Health & Safety role within a technical environment.
You will have experience in supporting field-based activities and ideally have experience of working in a wind / utility industry environment. You will have a good working knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulations and can learn quickly about all aspects of wind farm HSE including electrical and civil engineering, turbine erection and maintenance and the Nordex way of working. Please note this role will require extensive travel across UK with nights away from home on a regular basis.
