We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical Perfusion Scientist to lead our growing team of 13 Clinical Perfusion at LHCH. The Clinical Perfusion Manager is responsible for providing professional leadership and the operational management of the Perfusion Department, ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources and the development and maintenance of the highest standards of patient care and service delivery.
Specialising in the full range of adult cardiac surgery we perform over 2,000 procedures per annum through six operating theatres specialising in complex aortic surgery, adult congenital surgery and minimally invasive surgery.
It's an exciting time to join the Surgery Division at LHCH with a new Cardiothoracic theatre opening in 2025. Offering a wide range of specialised services, our Theatre department has a Surgical Robot and offers a range of minimally invasive procedures which ensures that LHCH provides cutting edge Cardiothoracic Surgery.
The role comes with payment towards relocation expenses subject to the relocation policy. The role includes participation on an on-call rota and the successful applicant must hold full registration with the College of Clinical Perfusion Scientists GB& I.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Perfusion Manager will work with the Surgical Triumvirate (Divisional Director of Operations, Divisional Medical Director and Divisional Director of Nursing) to develop perfusion services in line with Trust goals, short and long term.
The Clinical Perfusion Manager must also be an experienced autonomous practitioner who will be responsible for cardiopulmonary bypass procedures in adults undergoing a range of cardiac and aortic surgery. All accountabilities here are in addition to what would be expected of a Senior Clinical Perfusionist.
The post holder will divide their time between clinical and managerial responsibilities as required ensuring service delivery targets are met.

Qualifications & Education
Essential
* MSc. in Clinical Perfusion Sciences plus a minimum of five further years advanced theoretical and practical training.
* Professional registration with The College of Clinical Perfusionist Scientists of Great Britain & Ireland.
* Advanced accreditation certificate of the Society of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain and Ireland.
* Evidence of Continual Professional Development.

* Relevant managerial qualification and experience.
