Through continued company expansion, a position has arisen at a leading UK manufacturer in the pet food industry, specialising in creating suet-based products for feeding wild birds. The company has over 30 years’ experience as a leading innovator within the industry with its design, development and core manufacturing business based at its extensive site in Kent. Reportable to the Warehouse Manager we are looking for a motivated individual to join our growing team based in Sittingbourne. The successful individual must be able to work in a busy and fast paced team, where juggling multiple priorities is a must. The ideal candidate must be: • Hard working, self-starter who is motivated • Enjoys working in a busy environment to meet deadlines • Ability to self-manage whilst also working closely within a team • High levels of attention to detail, process-driven • Counterbalance forklift licence and PPT essential (reach truck licence beneficial) • Previous experience is essential This is a varied role including but not limited to: • Use of ERP system (Orderwise) & barcode scanners • Safe and efficient unloaded/loaded of vehicles • Inspection of all consignments ensuring satisfactory condition of goods and no evidence of transit damage or deterioration. • Checking delivery/dispatch documentation, identifying and recording discrepancies prior to signing any paperwork. • Routing products and goods to departments in a manner that does not become a hazard or restriction to others. • Stock Rotation – Use FIFO (First in/First Out) methods. Use correct handling and storage methods • Manual Handling – Observing safe manual handling procedures when moving items. Where practical, using mechanical aids/others to assist. • Ensuring all products/ materials movements both external and internal are captured by using the barcode scanners, keeping system up to date • Ensure Fork Lift Truck pre-checks are carried out and defects reported • Monitor and check the completion of relevant records as per company’s procedures (Fork Lift Checks, Racking inspections etc) • Identify equipment maintenance needs and liaise with the Maintenance department • Recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and safety. • Able to offer training/assistance to team members • Train & provide assistance to junior operators in their assigned responsibilities This role is a permanent MONDAY to THURSDAY shift (10 hours per day/40 hours per week) AGENCIES NEED NOT APPLY
