We are seeking an enthusiastic, confident, and self-motivated Housing Standards Officer to join our busy Private Sector Housing team. We licence in the region of 600 houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) under the Mandatory Licensing Scheme and have recently introduced Additional Licensing covering a further 600 small HMOs. Your work will be focused on a busy caseload of HMO Licensing inspections, checking on compliance with licence conditions, writing schedules of work and setting timescales for completion. You will assess occupancy limits, prepare and issue licences. You will have at least an HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline together with a minimum of 2 years’ experience of delivering customer focussed, quality services, ideally with knowledge and experience of building construction and/or the private rented sector. You will possess good written and oral communication skills and be comfortable working with landlords and letting agents to ensure works are completed to an appropriate standard and on time. This post is subject to a basic DBS disclosure. The intention is for the post holder to work predominately from home however, it is a requirement to attend our offices or sites within Warwick District as required.
