XDS Oxford is currently seeking a Technician to join our existing team, assembling and testing products, sub-assemblies and components to agreed quality, time-scale and cost objectives.
Key responsibilities:
1. Assemble products, jigs and test equipment in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and quality procedures.
2. Test products in accordance with test specifications, records and quality procedures.
3. Machine or modify component parts and jigs, as required.
4. Prepare products for packing, packing sub assemblies and components, and preparing packing lists.
5. Assist in the installation / commissioning of products at customer facilities, carry out service and repair site work.
6. Responsive and professional communications with customers (internal and external) and vendors.
7. Maintain equipment, test equipment and tools in proper working condition.
8. Maintain high levels of housekeeping in both own and general working areas.
9. Ensure work is carried out in accordance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Specific Skills:
1. Experience of manufacturing processes and mechanical assembly techniques and ability to apply this in the workplace.
2. Awareness of a variety of engineering materials, their properties and applications.
3. Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, functional specifications, work instructions and other technical documentation.
4. Experience of working within an ISO9001 discipline.
5. Accustomed to working with precision mechanisms.
6. Experience with UHV technology.
7. Structured, methodical and well-organised approach.
Candidates should be able to maintain a flexible attitude and approach to changing priorities and requirements and establish and maintain effective working relationships throughout the business.
