The Director is responsible for the deploying the vision for a Bath Riverside Innovation Quarter, helping to position the University for future success in an increasingly competitive financial environment. You will provide motivational leadership for the transformational changes required to establish a triple helix of University, industry/public sector and government(s) working together to transition Bath’s economy from its dependence on retail and hospitality to include substantial innovation activity. The person appointed must be able to engage with industry/public sector and government(s), to sell the vision and through the development of value propositions, the creation of business networks and identify and evaluate new opportunities for externally-funded projects. The University of Bath seeks a Director to lead the Bath Riverside Innovation Quarter. This role involves securing funding, developing business networks, and identifying new opportunities for pre-letting for partners to collocate with university academic. You will engage with industry, public sector and government, investors and developers, to position the University for future success facilitating the Riverside Innovation Quarter and Bath Quays North. Responsibilities include raising the profile of the development, managing commercial opportunities, and ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements. The position requires some travel and overnight stays. The Director will report to the Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships & Innovation and may manage a small team. Primary Contact Serve as the main point of contact for Bath Riverside Innovation Quarter partners. Engage with organisations and businesses outside of Bath. Wide Remit Work across skills, education, research, and innovation. Collaborate with University support infrastructures to engage with growth opportunities. Global Relationships Forge new relationships globally, especially with other world heritage innovation districts. Internal Collaboration Build positive relationships with key internal stakeholders, including Pro Vice Chancellors, Deans, and Professional Service contacts. Further Information The post is offered on a part-time (22 hours per week, 0.6 FTE) open ended basis, (subject to funding), of which there is an initial 2 years budget.
