The Role: Sr. Manufacturing Engineer
As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer at Innovent, you’ll play a key role in shaping the design and manufacturing of our high-performance honeycomb products. You’ll work with a talented team to take prototypes from concept to reality, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and precision. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll be a critical partner in designing and improving manufacturing processes, mentoring junior engineers, and leading initiatives to enhance our product offerings.
What You’ll Do:
1. Design & Innovation: Use your expertise to develop innovative mechanical and process designs in CAD (preferably Creo) to meet the high-performance requirements of our products.
2. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with machinists, engineers, and production assemblers to refine and optimize manufacturing processes.
3. CNC Expertise: Become an integral part of the manufacturing process by mastering CNC sinker EDM machine operations and developing complex tool paths for CNC milling machines.
4. Tooling & Fixture Design: Design, develop, and implement innovative fixturing solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
5. Prototyping: Lead the development of physical products through prototype production, assembly, and testing.
6. Manufacturing Support: Provide ongoing support to the production team, ensuring smooth operations and resolving manufacturing challenges to keep projects on schedule.
7. Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all models, drawings, and manufacturing instructions are accurately processed through our ERP system (Epicor) and document control system.
8. Supplier Collaboration: Act as a technical liaison to component and tooling suppliers, ensuring they meet our high-quality standards and providing technical assistance when needed.
9. Infrequent travel up to 10%.
What You’ll Bring:
1. Education & Experience: Associate degree in mechanical engineering with 10+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. You’ll bring at least 5 years of mechanical engineering expertise.
2. CNC Programming Knowledge: Strong understanding of CNC machining, CAM software, and the principles of machining and metalworking.
3. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in mechanical CAD software (preferably Creo/PRO-E), with experience designing precision metal parts and mechanical assemblies.
4. Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills to analyze issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions efficiently.
5. Attention to Detail: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret mechanical drawings and technical procedures, with familiarity in GD&T.
6. Collaborative Mindset: A proactive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
7. U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
