Senior Engineer

Ringway Jacobs is seeking an enthusiastic and talented individual to join our team as a Senior Engineer. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Team Leader to plan, develop, manage, and coordinate resources across our range of projects and services for Highways. You will leverage the skills of internal staff, contractors, consultants, and other key stakeholders to maximize opportunities and ensure cost-effective solutions.
The Role
•Provide leadership for engineering resource within the team, supporting the development of junior members of staff to develop talent within the Design team and deliver an excellent and effective service for Highways and external Clients.
•Ensure the appropriate application of technical design standards, processes and regulations and any departures from them, to maintain a high level of technical output of proposed solutions and reports.
•Assist in the development of the design programme and that it is managed effectively and that the Essex Highways Project Server is maintained to meet our business needs.
•Assist and support the Team Leader in the day-to-day management and co-ordination of the design team, deputising when required.
•Ensure strong budgetary control and financial management is undertaken throughout the life of those projects under their direct control.
About You
•Demonstrable experience of directing and managing engineering resource to create a performance culture
•Understanding of financial management, including forward planning of programmes of work, budget accounting and monitoring of expenditure with the ability to work with statistical and performance information.
•Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent accreditation or suitable industry experience.
•Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional institution.
•Conversant with Microsoft applications – Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
