Responsibilities:
* To comply with the home's Health & Safety, COSHH and Environmental Health regulations.
* To comply with latest infection prevention regulations and practices throughout the home.
* Attend and contribute to staff appraisal meetings.
* To maintain confidentiality on all aspects of care and your work within the home.
* To have a working knowledge of the home's policies and procedures.
* To establish good relationships with the Service Users, relatives, colleagues, and other people visiting the home.
* To assist clients with all aspects of personal care including oral hygiene, catheter care and supporting with incontinence aids where required, encouraging independence and maintaining dignity throughout.
* To carry out regular checks throughout the night taking into account the Service Users privacy.
* To participate and co-ordinate meaningful activities and support external entertainers in the home and promote engagement and fun within the home.
* To complete daily, accurate and factual documentation on the caredocs system.
* To obtain following specimens for analysis; blood, urine, faecal, and sputum (this only if you have been trained and are confident in performing these duties).
* Assist with preparing and serving meals and other domestic duties including food preparation in the evening and laundry throughout your shift. Assist Service Users with eating of their meals if required.
* To communicate to the registered manager if any serious or unsafe events occur.
* To complete factual and detailed legal documentation of all activities.
* To complete meaningful activities when allocated.
* To complete afternoon drinks trolleys, assisting with fluid intake meeting individual needs.
* Completion of accident and incident forms as accurately and timely as possible.
* Respond to service user requests, including answering of call bell systems.
* Undertake key worker activities, contacting relatives and NOK to make them aware of requirement for toiletries, clothing or incontinence products.
* To have working knowledge of home's emergency procedures.
* Attend internal and external training as required and complete all allocated mandatory training within your probation period.
* Undertake a responsible attitude towards economy, care of equipment, and property.
* Work alongside other colleagues to ensure safe practices are being carried out on every shift.
* To ensure all residents receive person-centred quality care.
* Commitment to supporting and promoting independence for service users on a short term contract.
* Understanding and ability to professional support individuals and their families where EOL or palliative care is in place.
* Note: In addition to the responsibilities listed above it may be necessary to perform other duties not listed. Consideration will be given to your skills and status when requesting you to perform these duties.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £11.62-£11.87 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 28 per week
