Rates: 600 - 700 Inside IR35 via Umbrella

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Contract Manager to join our client's Procurement & Commercial Team supporting a major Energy Connection Project in the UK.
Reporting to the Procurement & Commercial Manager, you will provide the necessary pre & post contract procurement and commercial support to the largest project within the client's business unit.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage the tender process for capital projects from issue of invitation to tender through to contract award and subsequent commercial management of the delivery phase, including management of commercial staff.
* Manage the procurement of essential work scopes, procuring at lowest cost of ownership and in accordance with the principle of efficiency and best value, covering all commercial, business, and legal project risks in contracts, and negotiating terms and conditions to ensure ongoing value for money throughout the contract's lifetime.
* Develop the Procurement and Commercial strategies in line with the Capital Projects Governance requirements.
* Demonstrate stakeholder engagement and management skills, with the ability to influence, lead, and resolve disputes together with problem-solving capabilities.
* Manage cost and forecast via regular cost reporting, ensuring adherence to change management procedures, payment and expenditure management, and cost estimating.
* Provide robust post-contract commercial management to support project goals, including negotiating/agreeing compensation events and ensuring implementation of the core principles of the Commercial Manual.
* Comply with all safety policies and procedures, promoting safety and safe working practices internally and externally to improve safety performance.
* Support the Procurement and Commercial Manager in providing a world-class procurement and commercial service.
What do you need?
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification and have or be working towards professional membership of a relevant professional body such as RICS or CICES.
* Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the Utilities Contract Regulations 2016.
* Knowledge and understanding of commercial governance arrangements for the development and execution of large capital projects, along with commercial, contract, or cost experience in delivering projects.
* Experience in estimating, sourcing management, cost & budget management, and contract administration.
* Experience in drafting and interpreting commercial contracts, along with knowledge of Standard Form construction contracts and bespoke contract arrangements. Experience of working with NEC / FIDIC Contracts.
