Job summary
An exciting job opportunity has arisen to join our ward clerk team based at Alton Community Hospital. You would be working flexibly across both wards supporting the clinical teams with all their secretarial/administration needs. You will be the first point of call for visitors.
We are searching for someone who is patient-focused, striving to give every patient the right care and support they require. Providing excellent administration support includes answering the wards' telephone calls, arranging patient transport, and handling medical records using RiO. You will be responsible for the organisation and ordering of ward stock and linen using a methodical and flexible approach, prioritising workloads to meet service needs. The post holder will be responsible for the organisation of their own workload and delegated decisions/actions, as deemed appropriate by the Operational Support Officer.
This is a full-time role working 1-4 weekends.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
* Act as a point of contact for the ward staff and respond within the agreed guidelines using your initiative.
* Monitor IT systems and provide IT support for the ward staff and clinical team.
* Ensure that patient medical record systems are available and monitor that they are correctly maintained.
* This includes ensuring correct RiO demographics, validation systems, and spine synchronisation, uploading, and maintaining correct records.

Essential
* GCSE level education including either English or Maths Grade C or Above.
* ECDL, NVQ Level 3 in business.
