Within our Plant team located in Magheralin, Northern Ireland, Leprino is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to help us foster a safer and more inclusive work environment! Responsibilities:
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with the site management team and employees, providing guidance and support on all health and safety matters.
* Lead site-wide initiatives to develop a strong health and safety culture through training, coaching, and engagement programs.
* Oversee compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring policies align with industry standards and best practices.
* Partner with trade union representatives to foster collaboration on safety initiatives and ensure clear communication across teams.
* Develop and implement an annual health and safety plan that aligns with the broader business strategy.
* Monitor and analyze safety performance indicators, using insights to drive continuous improvements.
* Conduct site audits and risk assessments to proactively identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
* Support the site management team in maintaining ISO 45001 accreditation.
* Collaborate with HR and occupational health teams to enhance workplace safety programs and promote employee well-being.
* Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and representing the site during inspections or investigations.
* Provide expert guidance on accident and incident investigations, ensuring lessons are learned and shared across the organization.
* Participate in project planning to integrate health and safety considerations into all site projects and operational changes.
You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):
* A minimum of five years of experience in a large-scale manufacturing operation focused on health and safety.
* Hands-on experience conducting inspections, audits, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
* Excellent knowledge of Northern Ireland health and safety legislation.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.
We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):
* Chartered Membership of IOSH or actively working toward it.
* Experience in a food manufacturing or logistics/warehousing environment.
* Familiarity with behavioral safety programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Training in Lean Manufacturing principles.
