Commissioning Engineer - Environment
Bodmin
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen in Bodmin for a Commissioning Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try.
Ideally, you will based in or around the Bodmin area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
The primary purpose of the role is associated with the planning, executing and documenting of commissioning activities on South West Water projects and programme of works in a safe manner, fully in accordance with the Client and GT (including specific framework deliverables) processes, systems and procedures. The Commissioning Engineer role operates within a matrix management arrangement which reports to:
* the Project Manager in respect of planning, progress, safety and quality, and;
* the Commissioning Manager in respect of project allocation, governance and training needs
The Commissioning Engineer shall:
* Develop the Design Phase Commissioning Plan to suit the actual project implementation in collaboration with the Client commissioning representatives to create the Delivery Phase Commissioning Plan which shall be supplemented by Risk Assessments / Commissioning Procedures that outline the steps to be taken at each stage
* Lead and document commissioning meetings on a periodic basis to suit the specific stage of the project, with a HAZCOMM review being a particular requirement at the commencement of the commissioning phase of each project.
* Coordinate the site commissioning activities to ensure that the project specific requirements and programme are met, seeking guidance from the Site Manager in the resolution of conflicts.
* Ensure that commissioning documentation is completed and available on the Common Data Environment, on a continuous basis, to demonstrate that testing requirements are fulfilled.
* Agree a training plan with the Client and ensuring that the content is delivered in accordance with the programme requirements of the project, including coordination of suppliers / subcontractors where specialist training is necessary. Training feedback shall be obtained from each attendee after each session which shall reviewed with the Project Manager and Client representatives, which shall be compiled into a feedback report that is published to the Common Data Environment.
* Mark up drawings and documents that have been amended during the commissioning process which shall be published to the Common Data Environment as the basis for the final versions to be issued at completion
* Lead the reliability and performance testing stage of the project including the production and acceptance of a report highlighting the compliance with the Client objectives.
* Assisting the Project Manager in the resolution of post-completion defects
About You:
* Demonstrate experience in the successful and safe commissioning of complex projects within the water industry in a contracting environment.
* Good financial and commercial awareness to recognise change and provide supporting details on the impact.
* Good communication skills to enhance interaction with the Client / project teams and ensure that the commissioning phase is implemented successfully
* Demonstrate a systematic approach to solving complex problems and recording the actions / outcomes.
* Ability to generate concise reports as deliverables for the commissioning processes.
* Ability to work in a multi-discipline team to achieve targets and delivery dates.
* The Commissioning Engineer shall have:
* Excellent working knowledge of sewage and water treatment processes, systems and typical M&E plant / equipment.
* Clear understanding of the structured approach to the commissioning process and the importance of concise, clear and accurate records from a quality management system.
* Ability to implement formal safety system in conjunction with behaviour based approaches within a dynamic environment for the benefit of all. Preferably having the ability to receive and issue safety documents to manage risk on behalf of the Company.

* CSCS or ECS card in an appropriate discipline
* EUSR Water Hygiene Card
* CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS)
* First Aid at Work
* Confined Spaces Entry (Medium Risk)
Desirable:
* Requirements for Electrical Installations (C&G 2382)
* Compex ExF / DSEAR Awareness
* Certified PROFIBUS Installer
* PROFIBUS Commissioning and Maintenance
