As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Electronic-Trading Risk Management group in Market Risk Technology, you’ll serve in a leadership role to help build, coach and lead agile teams to solve complex problems at scale. As an expert in your field, your insights will influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionality. Job responsibilities Provides direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers, as well as guidance to product and business teams Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of agility, firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Advanced applied experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, with formal training or certification on software engineering concepts Experience leading teams of technologists Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Experience in agile product development and managing technologists Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.) Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods and all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Experience working at code level In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems Experience of communicating and engaging with senior leadership/stakeholders Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security Full stack developer experience with Java, Spring, Hibernate Experience with Spark/BigData/Hadoop ecosystems & cloud technologies Familiarity with API and Micro services frameworks, Container Technologies, and workflows Familiarity with modern front-end technologies, especially ReactJS
