Job Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Legal Intern to assist our legal team in handling various legal and compliance matters, contract drafting, research, and support in managing legal risks. This internship will provide exposure to the financial services industry, specifically within the chit fund space.
Key Responsibilities:
* Legal Research: Conduct research on legal issues related to the chit fund industry, financial regulations, company law, and other relevant financial laws.
* Drafting and Reviewing Contracts: Assist in drafting and reviewing agreements such as subscription contracts, loan agreements, vendor contracts, and other business-related documents.
* Compliance Support: Assist in ensuring the companys operations comply with relevant regulations (e.g., the Chit Funds Act, RBI regulations, SEBI rules, etc.), and provide support in preparing compliance reports.
* Litigation Support: Help track ongoing litigation matters, assist in preparing documentation for court hearings, and maintain records of case progress.
* Corporate Governance: Assist in maintaining legal records and documents, ensuring corporate governance and adherence to company policies and legal standards.
* Risk Management: Support the legal team in identifying potential legal risks in business operations and provide assistance in devising strategies to mitigate them.
* Regulatory Filings: Assist in preparing and filing regulatory documents, returns, and compliance reports with government agencies.
* Client Interaction: Assist in responding to client queries and provide legal assistance where needed, under supervision.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Currently pursuing or recently completed a Law degree (LL.B. / B.A. LLB.) from a recognized institution.
* Strong understanding of financial regulations, company law, and corporate governance.
* Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
* Familiarity with financial instruments and basic accounting principles is a plus.
* Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex legal issues.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
The internship will be for a period of [6 months] from 10 AM to 5 PM. Monday to Friday. Saturday half day.
