Weavers Lodge is a specialist service based in Castle Cary, Somerset, supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex behavioural needs.
Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Manager to set up our new service and lead our team in delivering outstanding care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Positive Behavioural Support and managing residential care settings, particularly those focused on learning disabilities and complex behavioural needs. Weavers Lodge may also support people who have a dual diagnosis of mental health needs. This service may be part of a pathway to avoid hospital admission, or as a step down from hospital. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, leading staff development initiatives, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of Weavers Lodge, and drive best practice.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including CQC standards.
* Lead, mentor, and support staff to deliver high-quality care.
* Manage budgets effectively while ensuring resources are utilised efficiently.
* Foster positive relationships with service users, families, and external stakeholders.
* Conduct regular audits and assessments to improve service delivery.
* Participation in management on-call.
* Assess potential new placements, and work with the individual and relevant stakeholders to ensure successful and supportive transitions into the service.
About You:
* A valid registration as a manager with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
* Proven experience in managing residential services for individuals with learning disabilities and complex behavioural needs.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
* Commercially aware, responsible for the financial management of Weavers Lodge ensuring efficiency while recognising market trends.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* A thorough understanding of safeguarding practices and risk management.
* Relevant qualifications in health and social care (e.g., Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care).
* Ideally hold a Behavioural qualification (ABA or PBS); this is desirable, however, this is not mandatory.
* A good understanding of Positive Behavioural Support, and an ability to embed this within the working of the Service.
* Committed to building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
