Role Overview
This role is required to provide flexible monthly support with Employee Relations (ER) case management. The role will be for a minimum of 3 days per month with flexibility to agree additional hours as required and needed. For these, minimum, 3 days a week per month, we would expect the successful candidate to be onsite in our London based office.
The role sits within HR and partners with HR and business managers in the delivery of a proactive employee relations offering. This is an individual who can quickly build relationships as a trusted advisor through their ability to effectively and pragmatically communicate, delivering consistent and clear advice on Employee Relations (“ER”) issues. Working as part of a team is key to being successful in this role.
Role Responsibilities
The purpose of the role is to minimise risk of employee issues through:
1. Management of the internal processes for disciplinary matters and formal complaints; preparing and reviewing case related documentation; working with independent hearing officers; drafting outcome letters and reporting/following up on any recommendations and conclusions;
2. Providing guidance and direction to HRBPs on end to end employee relations matters including but not limited to: performance improvement plans, conduct matters, redundancies, settlement agreements, exit discussions and sickness absence process. This includes reviewing and drafting documentation;
3. Ensuring consistency of process and outcomes when managing employee related risk through the documentation and review of toolkits and guidance;
4. The development and delivery of training for independent hearing officers, HRBPs, managers and employees;
5. Providing problem resolution/support to HR Business Partners, HR leadership team and business leaders for all complex ER matters;
6. Ensuring that the relationship between TP ICAP and its employees is managed appropriately, identifying key risks to the business and to the HR leadership team;
7. Supporting policy development in line with best practice, legal requirements and in support of strategic objectives;
8. Convening and facilitating internal Committee meetings;
9. The promotion of a progressive culture through the management of ER cases;
10. Effectively managing relationships with key internal stakeholders working closely with and also ensuring that functional boundaries are acknowledged and adhered, particularly with Compliance and Legal functions;
11. Providing the HR global leadership team with regular updates and overseeing the production of statistical reporting;
12. Collaboration with control partners on all aspects of conduct management;
13. Receiving and reviewing management information (MI) relating to breaches and trends; and considering this information when reviewing conduct.
Experience / Competences
Essential
1. Demonstrable experience with ER case management within a front office, Financial Service environment.
2. Sound understanding of employment law and the practical application in managing employee related risk.
3. Significant hands-on experience of dealing with ER matters such as misconduct, employee grievances, employee sickness/health & wellbeing, performance management, employment disputes, within a front office Financial Services environment.
4. Experience in dealing with business restructuring such as head count reduction, TUPE, office moves, etc.
5. Wants to work as a team and enjoys discussing and advising on employee related topics.
6. Collaborates with stakeholders within and outside of the immediate department ‘to get the job done’.
