About Us
We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and enthusiastic Design and Technology Technician to support the continuing improvement of this large and successful faculty. The role focuses largely on supporting teaching and learning in the Product Design/Resistant Materials/Textiles areas. The successful candidate will also work with the Food Technician and the Head of Art to support the preparation of resources across the whole faculty.
Training will be provided for the safe use and maintenance of machinery in the workshops. An interest in and aptitude for Computer Aided Design and Manufacture will be a distinct advantage.
You will have a broad-based knowledge of materials and be reliable, organised, calm, and flexible with an enthusiasm for design. You should be confident in dealing with pupils and competent in a range of manufacturing techniques. Practical experience of using tools and machines, including pillar drill and band saw, is essential. Competence in using IT and ordering systems is also required. Previous DT technician experience within a school or relevant industry experience is essential.
