Brook Street Recruitment is working with a client for a Bookkeeper position situated in Belfast.
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles to support the financial health of our organisation.
Responsibilities
1. Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers and journals
2. Process accounts payable and ensure timely payments to suppliers
3. Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
4. Prepare and submit VAT returns as required
5. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
6. Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data
7. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting regulations and standards
8. Utilise accounting software - Xero for efficient record keeping
Qualifications
1. Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role
2. Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
3. Proficiency in accounting software Xero is essential
4. Familiarity with accounts payable processes
5. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
6. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
7. Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy
