Trainee Shipping Coordinator

MAIN PURPOSE
To ensure the effective delivery of shipping within the Plant and Logistics Department and to carry out identified job tasks in a safe, diligent and efficient manner as specified within this job description and as directed by the Logistics Operations Manager.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
2. Liaise with ATR and purchasing departments daily and assist where possible.
3. Ensure customer orders are shipped accurately and within requested timescales, utilizing the correct documentation.
4. Control yard and warehouse activities, including effective container controls.
5. Achieve effective communication with internal customers and build relationships to deliver customer satisfaction.
6. Fulfil an active role as part of the Plant and Equipment Logistics leadership team.
7. Perform any other duties as designated by the logistics operations manager or as Bilfinger Salamis’ business dictates.
Experience & Qualifications
* Previous experience in a similar role
* SAP experience
* Dangerous Goods by Sea Certificate (preferred)
* Forklift certificates (preferred)
* ADR regulations – Consigners (preferred)
* Good attention to detail
* Good organisational skills
* Ability to problem solve
* Computer literate
* Good communication skills
