Main duties of the job
We are looking for a strong leader and a highly motivated Sister/Charge nurse with excellent communication skills and a real passion for nursing to join our Trauma ward (F2). The role requires a close working relationship with the multi-professional team to ensure that evidenced based quality care is delivered with compassion to every patient. F2 is a 26 bedded trauma ward and we provide exemplary care to our patients during what can be a very stressful time. We deal with simple trauma through to complex poly trauma. We have a diverse workforce with a combination of staff who have been on F2 for many years as well as newly qualified staff just starting in their careers.
Job responsibilities
As the successful post holder, your skills as a senior role model will be pivotal in supporting the personal and professional development of the ward nursing team with the support of your ward leader. You will ensure that quality agendas are being met, making certain that your team are delivering safe, effective, timely care in a caring and supportive way. You would be working in conjunction with the consultant body, nurse practitioners and care group management teams, delivering established patient pathways whilst assisting with new and innovative approaches to patient care.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience
* Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
* Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
* Significant post registration experience / qualification / training, including experience and knowledge within relevant speciality
* Ward management experience
* Knowledge of current issues within acute Health Service
* Experience in an acute hospital setting
* Provide evidence of supporting / managing a range of learners in practice
* Provide evidence of supporting colleagues to promote effective learning in practice
* Commitment to continuing professional development
* Ability to demonstrate clinical decision making and judgement
* Commitment to the post and Care Group responsibilities
* Experience in handling adverse events and complaints
* Act in the role of Practice Assessor or supporting the progression of learners / supporting challenges as needed

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 a year Per Annum (PA) Pro Rata
