Senior Quantity Surveyor

Fourblue are working on an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our client, a rapidly expanding company in the electrical and power sectors. Due to significant growth and recent contract wins, they are expanding their commercial team in the Scottish region.
Responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
* Lead the preparation of accurate cost estimates, detailed budgets, and cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle
* Oversee the negotiation, preparation, and management of construction contracts, including handling variations, claims, and disputes in line with legal and client specifications
* Manage the tendering process, from preparing tender documents to evaluating bids and negotiating contract terms with suppliers and subcontractors
* Identify potential risks, including cost overruns and delays, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks effectively
* Provide leadership to project teams, offering guidance on cost planning, procurement strategies, and contractual matters, ensuring successful project delivery
* Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders such as clients, consultants, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project
* Deliver regular, detailed cost reports and forecasts to project stakeholders, identifying any budget variances and advising on corrective actions
Criteria for the Senior Quantity Surveyor:
* Previous experience in quantity surveying, specifically within the electrical, power, or construction sectors
* A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a similar field.
* Chartered status with RICS or CICES is a requirement
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles, with the ability to negotiate effectively and lead teams to achieve
