Key Responsibilities:
As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Shift Engineers, managing the day-to-day operations of critical environments, and ensuring maintenance activities run smoothly. Your duties will include:
* Leading and managing a team of Shift Engineers, assigning tasks, and ensuring efficient work allocation
* Managing the delivery of maintenance activities, including cost control for both specialist and self-performed services
* Ensuring that all client services and critical environments (such as data rooms and manufacturing areas) meet SLAs and client requirements
* Managing the change control process for business-critical areas
* Conducting technical management reporting and emergency response standby/call-out
* Overseeing utilities management, environmental programmes, and statutory compliance maintenance
* Managing engineering maintenance documentation and records to ensure they are retrievable and well-organized
* Monitoring environmental conditions and reviewing the performance of critical equipment regularly
* Liaising with the Facilities Management Team and supporting technical audits and cost-effective procurement
What We're Looking For:
We are seeking a proactive, resourceful Shift Leader with the technical expertise to manage critical environments and lead a team effectively. You should have:
* Recognized Electrical Qualifications (e.g., Apprenticeship, HND, C&G)
* 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations (essential)
* Previous experience working in critical environments such as data centres (desirable)
* Knowledge of emergency response protocols and utilities/environmental programmes
* IOSH or equivalent H&S training
* Strong leadership, contract, and supplier management skills
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to make confident decisions
* Familiarity with BMS Controls, HVAC, UPS, Standby Power, and Critical Environment Cooling (desirable)
* Experience with Environmental, Health & Safety, and Quality Systems
* Proficient PC and MS Office skills
