Manufacturing Engineer Whiteley, Hampshire £40-50k Share Options An exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join an innovative start-up based near Fareham. Our client has developed a revolutionary medical product that is able to dramatically reduce the time it takes to test for antimicrobial resistance. This enables clinicians to prescribe the most effective antibiotic at the first opportunity. As part of the growth strategy they are now looking for a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to help optimise the production of this vital technology and bring it to market. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement manufacturing strategies for our instruments and consumables. Work with suppliers and partners to meet customer demand while reducing manufacturing costs. Design and develop test jigs and fixtures for assembling microfluidic chips and other components. Identify, assess, and collaborate with new suppliers based on quality, speed, and price. Source equipment and design processes to scale up manufacturing capacity as needed. Establish processes for testing and quality control of various components. Create and maintain build and test documentation, including work instructions, flowcharts, and SOPs. Collaborate with the engineering team to develop maintenance schedules for instruments and provide necessary training. Present your findings and progress to the internal team and external collaborators. Skills and Experience: A degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in a manufacturing engineering role. Strong ability to work with a diverse range of suppliers and contractors. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to manage projects and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams. A proactive problem solver with the ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively. Methodical and detail-oriented, with excellent documentation and record-keeping skills. This position would suit an Engineer who is keen to make a difference.
