Cardiff and Vale University Health Board
To provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the ENT Directorate Team. The range of duties may vary, including the use of databases and PMS on a regular basis, and assisting in the management of the day-to-day operational requirements for delivery of this service.
Being able to adapt your working style and pace, you should demonstrate experience in developing and maintaining administrative processes that meet governance requirements.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work directly with the senior management team, serving as a crucial point of contact, source of information, and key support role in maintaining cross-organisational communication and scheduling. You should have a high standard of education with excellent typing and word processing skills, including the use of Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. You will act as the Directorate officer to support the management team with the day-to-day operational delivery of services, including outpatients, inpatients, theatres, and management and approval of doctors' and consultants' leave. The candidate must have experience dealing with multidisciplinary teams. Excellent organisational, administrative, and communication skills are essential.
The work includes contact with staff, patients, police, and external agencies; therefore, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a professional and friendly approach, are required. You will have a high regard for confidentiality. With a busy workload, you must be organised and a capable self-starter, able to work on your own initiative and prioritise tasks to cope with tight deadlines. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
