DP World are currently recruiting for a Operations Supervisor to join our fast paced Automotive customer operation based in Wolverhampton. This role will see you take overall management for a section of the operation, managing TL's and wider teams to meet KPIs and work collaboratively with the customer to ensure operational success.
About the role:
1. Ensure all Team Leaders and Team Members understand the need for safe working practices and adhere to the safe working methods and countermeasures that DP World implement,. Risk Assessment, safety walks, Handling Aids, and Job rotation. Lead a zero-tolerance mindset for deviation from safe working practices.
2. To successfully manage succession planning and support cross training amongst the teams to foster a multiskilled workforce culture
3. Ensure effective manpower planning is completed daily. Increase area versatility with robust training plans. Manage headcount balance between permanent and temporary labour in area. Deal with all individual performance issues within 24 hours of incident.
4. To investigate, document and take appropriate action for issues which fall under the Company’s disciplinary and grievance policy and procedure this will include AIR investigations, performance, conduct and employee disputes
5. Develop and maintain Standard Work and Quality processes to ensure a “Right First Time” product to the customer. Ensure that all customers required quality processes are operated in line with specification,. QCOS. Drive a zero-tolerance mindset for deviation from the use of quality processes to ensure customer expectations are exceeded
6. Successfully complete Audit requirements and document control across the shift
7. Complete Supervisor Lams and monitor the completion of Team Leaders Lams
8. Investigate Customer concerns. Identify and eliminate root cause using robust countermeasures such as PPS and GLS process. Sustain the corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues.
9. Implement engineering changes, production trials, model change, and pilot build in area of responsibility. Flawless execution every time, using the “Engineering Change” process.
10. To follow up with the maintenance team to ensure that team board CCAR’s are closed out in a timely manner.
11. Responsible to ensure a comprehensive shift handover is completed and briefed out to the Operations Manager. To attend shift-based meetings for example pre and post-shift meetings, engineering change reviews, board reviews and timely closure of CCAR’s
12. Management of the Company’s Time & Attendance system
13. Eliminate external quality defects in area of responsibility. All defects internal/external to be followed up with appropriate action in line with company policies and procedure
14. Eliminate customer downtime through the application of a standard operating structure • Manage Absence targets for Planned and Unplanned absence in area.
15. Monitor, measure and analyse key performance indicators (KPI’s)
Your Key Skills:
16. Previous experience of process/continuous improvement engineering within a warehouse/manufacturing type environment
17. Previous Supervisory / Operations Management exposure in a JIT, sequencing, manufacturing environment is highly desirable
18. Prior experience working in a customer facing Logistics / Supply Chain environment.
19. A production, materials and quality control background compliment skillset
20. Proficient SAP knowledge
21. Previous experience in a JIT, sequencing environment is highly desirable
