About the role:
As a Speech and Language Therapist you will be working at a pediatric school in Chelmsford with children 5-14 years to support their social, emotional, behavioural and educational development.
Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist:
* Plan, resource & prepare effective and engaging therapy programmes for children
* Deliver whole-staff therapeutic training
* Adopt a capacity building approach whereby the aim of intervention is to equip staff with the skills to effectively facilitate the development of pupils’ communication skills
* Assist in determining the communicative function of a behaviour and to develop/target goals that will reduce challenging behaviour by providing pupils with a more effective means of communicating
* Establish functional goals that promote meaningful participation and increased independence
* Develop, facilitate and monitor the implementation of whole class intervention programs
* Complete termly therapy reports on children’s progress in individual and group therapy sessions

What we are looking for in a Speech and Language Therapist:
* Must be HCPC and RCSLT registered or in process
* Understanding of mental health in children, ACEs, trauma and the impact of abuse and mental health difficulties on child development, attachment and behaviour
