Discover more about our culture and approach here: https://nadara.com/living-the-company/ Job Description Summary: A key role within a busy, pan- European legal team, acting as our UK legal counsel mainly focusing on all legal aspects of our growing portfolio in the UK but also supporting on European portfolio wide-projects. The position requires and provides for the development of a wide range of legal, management and communication skills through (i) assistance with all types of legal work, but particularly from a commercial contract and project development point of view, (ii) the co-operation with internal commercial managers, and (iii) the provision of advice to internal stakeholders on various legal, risk, compliance, and regulatory matters. The role will (i) provide strategic legal support to the business, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and managing all legal aspects of project development, construction and operation and (ii) support the wider team to provide timely and relevant advice to other teams within the Nadara business in relation to renewable energy projects to ensure successful operations. Job Description: Key responsibilities Providing legal advice on the development, construction and operation of diverse renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and battery storage. Advising on permitting processes, environmental consents, and regulatory approvals in England and Scotland. Providing advice on ongoing compliance with UK energy regulations, environmental laws, local planning policies and land-use regulations. Engaging with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders as needed. Drafting, negotiating and advising on a range of project contracts (including leases, supply chain contracts, construction contracts and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) Agreements, grid connection contracts, operation and maintenance contracts and operational management contracts) and managing a variety of complex legal services as required. Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements related to joint development agreements, partnerships and joint ventures. Providing support on processes for M&A and financing transactions, including managing due diligence phases, advising on transactional documentation and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to achieve timely execution of transactions. Advising on public tenders, government incentives and regulatory frameworks affecting renewable energy projects. Managing legal disputes or claims related to any aspect of the role scope. Managing and co-ordinating external legal counsel when needed. Contributing to the creation and maintenance of key corporate and legal documentation, including precedent legal documents, database and physical signed contracts. Helping to implement legal strategies, group policies and procedures and governance solutions for Nadara UK, together with the implementation of shareholder portfolio level policies. Contributing to the maintenance of an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge of developments in relevant legislation and regulation and advise senior management on the same. Qualifications & Requirements Qualified solicitor in England & Wales and/or Scotland. 5-7 years of post-qualification legal experience, preferably in the renewable energy sector. Strong expertise in UK administrative law, permitting, real estate, and construction law. Experience in negotiating land agreements and engaging with local authorities. Knowledge of UK energy regulations, environmental law, and grid connection processes. Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills in English. Ability to manage multiple high value projects independently while working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Experience working in a multinational company or within the energy sector is an advantage. Competencies & Behaviours Proactive, autonomous and adaptable.
