The Disability Supported Accommodation Service (DSAS) is a citywide network of housing with support and respite services for adults aged 18+ with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs, individuals with a physical disability, adults whom are sensory impaired or have an acquired brain injury. This is a 24/7 provision and candidates will need to be willing to work on a rota to cover days, evenings and weekends.
The Service aims to make a positive difference to the lives of individuals with disabilities by offering person-centred support and care, as well as quality housing. We believe that every individual has the right to achieve their full potential, regardless of disability, and that disability should not exclude a person from society and a fuller community life.
Working as part of a dedicated team, you will provide support to disabled adults with their day-to-day needs, within their own home, which may be within a permanent supported living environment or the Short Breaks service. You will also assist in the provision of practical and emotional support to customers that will promote independence and will assist and support other involved parties, to ensure positive outcomes for all customers.
In accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates must evidence their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment. This is not a role we consider to be eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route based on Manchester City Council policy. Candidates are therefore encouraged to consider their own right to work options without the requirement for Manchester City Council sponsorship.
