Job Opportunity: Engineering Technician

Randstad Construction & Property are working on behalf of a National Facilities Management company to find an experienced and collaborative Engineering Technician to join their team in Dumfries.
Location: Dumfries (Static)
Salary: Competitive (up to £37,000 depending on experience)
Employment type: Full-time, permanent, Monday-Friday

Daily Responsibilities:
An average day will include the following:
1. Help with the operation and control of building fabric/engineering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schemes.
2. Ensuring all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment are fully implemented.
3. Undertake essential repair works, planned preventative maintenance, calibration and fault diagnostics at the request of Senior Technician to building and engineering assets.
4. Understand the complete working of the mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems particularly as they relate to this unit, such as lifts, refrigeration, boiler plant, air handling units, fire alarm systems, computer systems, control theory, practical and application, building fabric (fire doors, safety glazing, window restrictors, locks).
Ideal Candidate:
An ideal candidate will have:
1. Completed City and Guilds/NVQ or equivalent in Engineering or Electrical apprenticeship.
2. BTEC/ONC in engineering/building services and/or five years' experience in an engineering/building craftsperson role preferably in a Healthcare environment.
3. Competent person in either/or but not limited to: piped medical gases, boiler and pressure systems, low voltage electrical systems to the requirements of SHTM's.
