Job Description
Boden Group is looking for a Commercial Manager to join our clients specialist and dedicated team in the North West on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. The Commercial Manager will provide an influential pre and post contract commercial management service to a portfolio of contracts within the public sector.
The Commercial Manager will manage numerous stakeholder relationships, including client representatives, operational teams running the contracts, and other colleagues who provide functional support to the contracts (e.g., risk, finance, legal, and HR). Furthermore, they will have direct line management for an Assistant Commercial Manager (ACM) based locally in the area. This role will cover contracts in Manchester, Liverpool, Barnsley, Stoke, and Preston - with hybrid remote working available.
What will you deliver?
1. Identifying, monitoring, and reporting on risks.
2. Supporting the management and mitigation of risks at all levels (operational, financial, commercial, technical, etc).
3. Management of jeopardy management process.
4. Management of variation/change control.
5. Repository for confidential/commercially sensitive information.
6. Leading governance within the contracts to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
7. Aiding the quality of service by ensuring awareness of contractual responsibilities among colleagues (including contract deliverables, scope of services, etc.).
8. Assisting in the search for efficiencies and service optimisation.
9. Enforcing commercial compliance (by audit and support against Minimum Commercial Standards).
10. Supporting the management of cash under their contract sector.
11. Ensuring full commercial governance to all subcontractors.
12. Providing day-to-day commercial support to the account management teams.
13. Supporting the identification, management, and mitigation of risks associated with bidding new contracts.
14. Leading on KPI reporting and management.
15. Supporting and leading on the annual paymech weightings review.
16. Leading and implementing changes in law to the benefit of contracts.
