We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the Support Worker Bureau. You must have the availability and flexibility to work irregular hours such as early mornings, evenings, weekends and nights. You will need experience of working with people with disabilities this can be in either a paid, voluntary or personal capacity. There are a number of properties across the borough which at times may involve lone working. You will be expected to work across all the locations within the Opportunities Together service; this may involve transferring locations at short notice. Although this is a casual role you must be punctual and reliable. This is an exciting time as the Opportunities Together service, we are embedding strength based approaches within all our practices. We aim to skill up workers with technology, support workers to involved and creative with tenants in the development of life opportunities and support plans. Be given autonomy to create opportunities and partnerships within the community. As part of the recruitment process you will need to complete a Stockport Council DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) application, the cost of which is £56.00, in addition you will need to be registered with the online DBS update service, this is an annual subscription at a charge of £13 payable by successful candidates. You will be able to apply for a reimbursement of your £56 DBS charge, 12 months after your start date. Due to the additional provisions set out for young workers in the 'working time regulations 1999 act' applicants must be 18 years or over to be considered for this work.
