Portfolio Credit Control are currently partnered with an ever-growing, well-established Utilities business who are currently having a massive upskill in the financial department. We are looking to recruit a seasoned Credit Controller who has a proven track record in reducing aged debt! Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the commercial credit control activities for all services across the portfolio.
2. First line telephone response from customers.
3. Handling day to day credit control enquiries such as customer correspondence, Direct Debit applications, disconnections, copy invoices and debt recovery reminder letters.
4. Maintain relationships with our Operational teams to facilitate suitable outcomes for non-paying commercial entities.
5. Act as an escalation point for complex credit control queries, including disconnection issues and multi-utilities accounts.
6. Provide input into the development of MI required to monitor performance and targets.
7. Maintain and improve current processes to offer enhanced credit control services to customers and help improve internal procedures to assist in achieving set objectives.
8. Manage sickness, absence, holidays for small credit control team.
9. Performance management of junior credit controllers, including setting and managing objectives in line with wider business targets.
10. Upskilling and training junior credit controllers.
11. Any ad-hoc duties as requested by the Head of Collections and Customer Service.
About You:
1. Excellent understanding of credit control best practices and ability to deliver a variety of approaches to meet both customer and business needs.
2. Good core IT skills inclusive of knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and mail merge facilities.
3. Excellent inter-personal skills.
4. Good understanding of legal practices in relation to credit control GDPR, Financial Hardship, Disconnection Policies.
5. Good understanding of all Utility services and contract terms and conditions.
6. Excellent team worker.
7. Proactively builds ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
8. Ability to adapt as priorities/demands change and initiate action.
9. Leadership qualities to drive performance in a small credit control team.
