We are currently working with a well-respected £80m turnover M&E contractor with a strong presence delivering across the commercial, healthcare, and life science sectors for leading main contractors who require a BIM Manager to join their London business unit.
Based from their head office in Kings Cross, you will work closely with their SLT, tasked with developing and implementing a robust design and BIM process to assist in developing the front-end delivery of a number of interesting schemes that are being secured at present for the coming years. You will be hands-on with the BIM process but also tasked with growing and managing a team as you progress into the leadership role.
The Role:
1. Develop/update, implement and maintain BIM workflow, protocols and standards leading the MEP BIM Team.
2. Liaise and coordinate with other BIM Coordinators, internal delivery teams, and external design teams.
3. Manage Revit project production and contents as well as the creation and maintenance of standard library objects.
4. Production of construction level drawing information for use on live sites.
5. Ensure company procedures, standards, and workflows are applied and communicated to the project teams.
6. Act as BIM lead (MEP Engineering) for major projects.
7. Provide day-to-day BIM technical support to delivery teams.
8. Ability to travel to live sites to carry out 3D scanning duties.
9. Surveying of work in progress MEP installations on live sites.
10. Provide training to other staff on relevant BIM technologies.
Person Specification:
1. Able to demonstrate the ability to undertake the above responsibilities.
2. Ideally have a minimum of 5 years' experience working as a CAD/Revit Technician for Building Services on medium/large scale projects in Autodesk Revit. Ideally, some experience in a leadership or management capacity but they are willing to consider people making a step up to this level.
3. In-depth knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Navisworks, with experience of creating search sets, running clash detection, and producing clash reports.
4. Experience in working with CAD Packages i.e., AutoCAD.
5. Excellent organizational skills and communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Able to manage sensitive and often confidential information.
7. Self-motivated and able to take responsibilities.
8. Ability to work independently on own initiative and as part of a team both internally and externally to meet deadlines.
