SOL SUPPORT WORKER - Zara JOB DESCRIPTION Accountable to: SUPPORTED LIVING TEAM LEADER Salary: £12.50 per hour on shift - sleepover rate £12.00 per hour Hours: 21 hours average ( 2 shifts week 1 - 1 shift week 2) Annual Leave: 30 days inclusive of public holidays - pro rata Base North Lanarkshire We are currently recruiting staff to work with Zara, a lady living in the Glenboig area of North Lanarkshire. She is looking to build a team who can support her on a full day/sleepover basis. This is an opportunity for an experienced support worker who can help Zara develop skills to become more independent. “I am Zara and I am 28 years old. I am friendly, bubbly, energetic and funny. I love my house to be clean and tidy – just the way I like it I also love music - especially Rhianna“ What I am looking for… Someone who will be a positive role model. Someone who is calm and kind, not too loud and doesn’t shout. Someone who is trustworthy and honest, I don’t like to have promises made and then not fulfilled. Someone who will listen to me, be interested and involve me in everything, but give me space when I need it. Someone who will support me to maintain weekly contact with my daughter. You must have a min of 1 year support work experience, ideally experience of mental health. To provide person centred care and support to the people Support for Ordinary Living wor k for in line with the mission, vision and values of the organisation the support worker role will: Support an individual to live in their own home/ family home and help the individual live the lifestyle they choose. Assist with personal care for example bathing where applicable. Encourage and support people to make life choices. Support individual to safeguard their property/ health & wellbeing/ finances and tak e appropriate action, when necessary, e.g., call NHS 24 or Doctor in case of emergency. Support people to become a valued member of their local community and support an d encourage them to maintain and develop relationships with their friends, their family and their neighbours. Encourage and support people to get involved in social activities. Assist people with domestic tasks such as housework, shopping cooking and cleaning. Treat people with dignity and respect at all times and recognise their rights to make their own choices. Support the individual to meet their outcomes in line with their Outcome based support plan and plan for the future. To work as part as a Self-Directed team, working in a consistent and flexible manne r to support the individual to meet the outcomes outlined in the outcome-based support plan. Adhere to SOL’s policies and procedures to attend all planned meetings / training as requested. Be an ambassador to SOL, safeguarding the positive image and reputation o f the organisation.
