Amore Complex Care are looking for fun and outgoing support workers to support a young lady in her 20s, who has a diagnosis of autism and is non-verbal. She loves music, arts and crafts, and has a busy routine which involves being out in the community.

Meet the person you’ll be supporting:
* Who am I? I am a young lady in my 20s.
* What activities do I do? Our client has many abilities and loves spending time on her computer and iPad. She loves watching TV, some of her favourite shows are Thomas the Tank Engine and Postman Pat, she also likes long country walks and recently walked up Snowden. Timing is important and it is not too busy.
* What challenges do I have? I have learning disabilities and autism, which can affect my behaviour, and I can sometimes be challenging towards people who support me. I am non-verbal and require my staff to be patient, and I can use some Makaton.
* What types of people do I get along with? People with good communication skills, who will support me in activities.
My team
* How many people support me at one time? I am supported by 2 staff at a time.
* What shift patterns do my team do? 12 hour day shifts and sleeps plus 12 hour waking night shifts available.
* What are my team trained in? My staff will get a bespoke training course specifically to cover my needs.
Job responsibilities
* Assisting with Autism through goal-oriented activities and daily living skills.
* Monitor the service user's physical and emotional well-being.
* Assisting with personal care.
* Supporting with sensory needs.
* Provide person-centred support.
* Support with household duties, such as cooking and cleaning.
* Assist the individual in developing and maintaining positive relationships in the community.
