What's involved with this role: Interim Traffic Engineer Merton 5258210 Hybrid working – 3 days a week in the office Key Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field. Comprehensive understanding of all legislations governing traffic, parking, highway and transport services. Comprehensive understanding of TfL and Local Authority policies linked to the service. Proficiency in traffic analysis software (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM, HCS, or similar). We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Traffic Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and analysing traffic systems, including roads, intersections, and other transportation-related infrastructure. The role involves conducting traffic studies, providing engineering recommendations, and collaborating with local government and private clients on various transportation projects. Key Responsibilities: Undertake allocated projects, tasks and functions appropriate to Traffic, Parking, Transport and Highway Services from start (feasibility, design, CAD drawing, reports) to completion (raise orders, contractor supervision and payment of invoices) to meet the targets and quality standards required by legislations, TfL and the Council. Assist in the compilation, monitoring and management of budgets for projects, programmes of works, tasks and functions undertaken by the Traffic and Highway Services. Prepare reports including cabinet reports, briefing documents and proofs of evidence and respond to correspondence on complex issues. Provide input into Departmental and Corporate initiatives and projects where traffic and highways expertise and professional knowledge is required.
