Service and Maintenance Engineer
We are looking to recruit a Skilled Service and Maintenance Engineer to work in the north west of England, ideally based within the geographical region of 20 branches, covering an area between Manchester, Chorley, Wigan, Warrington, and Bolton.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the equipment associated with the cleaning and finishing of garments and household items in stores located in High Street & Supermarkets. Full training will be provided on the equipment. The ideal candidate should already be a qualified engineer, ideally with electrical experience holding 17th / 18th Edition or a Refrigeration Engineer with a C&G qualification.
The position would also suit someone currently site or factory-based, who is looking for the challenge of multi-site engineering.
The ideal candidate will have various multi-disciplinary skills such as experience with different types of electro-mechanical machinery, as well as a strong electrical/mechanical background. Experience in any of the following disciplines would be advantageous: electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, gas boilers, steam distribution, heating, and refrigeration.
The company will train the right candidate on the relevant technical courses needed to service the equipment, including Commercial Gas and Refrigeration Courses.
Key Responsibilities
1. Directly responsible to the Company's Senior Engineer.
2. Carry out routine preventative maintenance to avoid downtime.
3. Respond to equipment breakdowns within the agreed service times.
4. Take ownership of work and problems, seeing them through to successful completion.
5. Organise own diary and plan day-to-day workload, prioritising to meet business demands.
6. Carry out service visits as per schedules, including Machine and Boiler Annual Services.
7. Carry out regular testing e.g., PAT, Ventilation checks, etc.
8. Ensure all company documentation and records are up to date and submitted to the relevant parties on time.
9. Assist with installations, refits, modifications, and strip-outs.
10. Carry out minor repairs to ancillary shop equipment and fittings, e.g., water and shop heaters, and small plumbing and electrical works.
11. Order spare parts within agreed limits.
12. Become a key member of the Regional Business Unit.
13. Provide telephone support to branches relating to minor equipment problems.
14. Display a professional image to colleagues and customers at all times.
Technical Requirement: We are flexible on the technical background of the engineer; it can be an electrical qualified person (ideally 17th Edition) or a refrigeration engineer, or an all-round factory machine maintenance engineer. We will consider all technical maintenance engineers and fully train them to the correct level and standards. We have a full training programme set up for all new Engineers joining the maintenance team.
The company offers a basic salary of circa £35,000 + Overtime (OTE approx. £40K) + a company van + periodic on-call allowance + 30 days holiday rising to 33 days (inclusive of bank holidays) + pension + health insurance + mobile phone + life insurance and other benefits associated with a large company.
