By joining Lexica, you will be part of the journey with our clients and colleagues. Job Summary The CAD Technologist / Technician is a six-month fixed-term role to support a key Life Sciences client. The post holder will work in a government department’s Science Estate Planning function to support strategic development and management of the client’s estate. The role will involve creating and managing detailed site-wide drawings, based on survey data, pertaining to live operations on the Weybridge site. The CAD Technologist / Technician will work in close collaboration with the Estate Site Manager and their team at the Weybridge site by creating and maintaining technical drawings using AutoCAD/REVIT software, ensuring accurate representation of data. The role will act as a central point for drawing, organising and integrating delivery partner’s inputs into cohesive plans, and addressing any discrepancies with the Estate Site Manager. We offer a hybrid working model, the role requires a minimum of three days per week at a life sciences site based in Weybridge, Surrey and Monday and Fridays can be worked from home. What we expect from you To manage and organise construction-related data and drawings by: Utilising existing 2D survey data plans, information and incorporate additional survey data (e.g. feeder pillar locations) Collaborate closely with the Estate Digitisation team to ensure the seamless integration and accuracy of all survey data Collaborate closely with the Estate Site Manager to ensure the seamless integration and accuracy of all necessary site information Drawing and incorporating other site-wide information regarding temporary structures and hoarding lines Work within a common data environment (CDE) area for the hosting of the data/drawings Adhere to an agreed Document Control and Management process To produce drawings and schematics using 2D CAD software, with the capability to incorporate exported data from Revit models if needed Collaborate with the Estate Site Manager to obtain necessary technical data and requirements Convert technical information into clear, detailed, and accurate CAD drawings under the instruction of the Estate Site Manager Update and modify CAD drawings as required to reflect changes/updates as required under instruction of the Estate Site Manager Maintain an organised repository of all CAD files and related project documentation What you will bring to the role Essential: Demonstrable industry experience post qualification Proficiency in AutoCAD software as well as Microsoft Office packages Strong understanding of digitisation technologies and data management Previous experience in estate management and construction logistics or a related field is advantageous Ability to work independently and collaboratively Strong attention to detail and accuracy in creating technical drawings Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines Desirable: Industry recognised CAD/BIM qualification/s Software skills experience with other CAD/BIM-related tools Experience using CDE platforms
