Overview An opportunity has arisen for a Transport Planner to be based at our Distribution Centre in Daventry. This challenging and interesting role will appeal to an individual with drive, determination and enthusiasm. Working with the wider planning teams within a network with over 50 transport planners. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to really grow and expand within the role. We are looking for applicants with the scope to challenge the role and find ways to continuously improve processes and drive efficiency. Shifts - 08:00 to 17:00 and any 5 from 7 - Working every other weekend. How will you contribute? Assist in the production of an optimum Transport plan in a time critical environment, constantly review and maintain in line with operational changes. Undertake all activities in line with KPI requirements and SLAs. Working on a rotating day shift basis covering 7 days, mainly 8-5pm, but with occasions when flexibility is required due to operational requirements Work closely with the Transport Operations Manager and Transport team based at sites, to ensure Transport hours and planned and used effectively. Management of Drivers Holidays and Rotas. Management of exceptions on the Time and Attendance system. Collation of weekly finance statistics. Assist in the production of reports for Senior Site Management to support KPIs. Work closely with key operational partners including other departments, depots and customer locations. Other Site administration as and when required. Reporting to the Transport Change Compliance Lead at the sites and the Planning Managers Booking of Agency and adhoc transport when required to support the plan is covered Creating Peak plans for events such as Easter and Christmas Learning other site based plans to greater your knowledge of the network and support other depots The role will be based at Daventry, but you will be planning for the main food sites that are based around the country remotely. What will you bring? Experience as a Transport Planner or similar role. Confident communicator A sound knowledge of the principles of transport operations and planning functions. Good organiser. Computer literate with good experience in using Microsoft Office - specially Excel. Sound team player and motivator who can work on own initiative.
