Can you support people to achieve their personal outcomes?
If you can answer "yes" then you have the qualities that we are looking for to be part of our team.
The main purpose of the role is to support the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of individuals with learning disabilities who have Autism and challenging behaviours. You will need to have a person-centred approach to promote choice and independence whilst making people's days enjoyable and meaningful.
This role requires the successful applicant to be able and confident to undertake Positive Behaviour Management training that requires physical interventions.
The service is working towards providing weekend and early evening support and you will be required to work on a rota basis as and when required.
For the role, we ask that you have:
* A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Care on the Credit and Qualifications Framework or the commitment and ability to attain the qualification within 1 year of appointment (subject to availability of training).
* An understanding of disability issues such as empowerment, choice and advocacy.
* The ability to contribute and effectively implement individual Management plans and Risk Assessments.
* A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence to drive a leased Council vehicle to transport individuals regularly throughout the day.
