ROLE PURPOSE:
The Lead Business Analyst leads a team of business analysts that provide business analysis services for the company, having defined the roles and responsibilities for the business analysis staff, at all levels and grades. The Lead Business Analyst takes responsibility for the business analysis team service provision for the organisation or specific business units ensuring the expected successful outcomes in this business functional area.
Furthermore, the Lead BA acts as an advocate for the business, ensuring the IT provision meets the strategic objectives of the organisation or business unit. As to this, the Lead BA has an active engagement role, together with other senior technical staff and specialised IT management formalizing and agreeing on the IT process and policy making.
Finally, as part of the daily responsibilities is the reporting and presentation of the BA team progress state to internal executives and staff at all levels and grades as well as to external audience.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Managing the team of business analysts and planning their capacity based on demand for project analysis.
* Liaising with business owners and coordinating the cooperation of the BA Team with all internal customers for the identification and analysis of their needs (new functionalities, modifications or enhancements of IT systems and applications, etc.).
* Ensuring that all functional requirement documents are reviewed, approved and signed-off by the business owners.
* Reviewing business analysis' team deliverables ensuring quality, consistency and accuracy.
* Validating BA artifacts and ensuring that they are documented and archived in the BA knowledge base repository.
* Acting proactively for the identification of areas of improvement and optimization in the existing processes, systems, and applications.
* Participating in impact analysis for the identification and selection of the most suitable solutions prior any communication with vendor.
* Cooperating with the PMO team to support project planning and prioritization.
* Cooperating with the Quality Assurance Team to compile the software testing scenarios.
* Supporting project implementation activities, providing guidance and clarifications to development and testing teams.
KEY MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
* Team Leadership: Foster a collaborative and effective team environment, leading to ongoing improvement of team’s productivity.
* High rates of communication satisfaction by Upper Management and stakeholders.
* Average response time for BA allocation: One (1) day (i.e. the average amount of time needed after the first connection with a stakeholder who requests BA services and support.
* High achieved rates versus expected ones of BA engagement.
* High numbers of satisfying business needs in the year versus planned projects.
* Low numbers of missed requirements, stakeholders, and systems.
* Ensure high adoption rates for all members of the Business Analysis team leading to smoother engagements in projects and higher satisfaction by both BAs and stakeholders.
* High quality of all BA deliverables (documentation, process flows, use cases, user stories) being detailed, clear and concise.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems Management or equivalent.
* 4-6 years working experience in large or complex IT scale projects, preferably within lottery or gaming sector, doing both people management and business and functional analysis overview.
* In-depth practical knowledge of programme or project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
* High intimate knowledge and experience in business analysis methodologies and all phases of the software development lifecycle (Agile, waterfall, etc.).
* Excellent experience reviewing and understanding all BA deliverables such as business/functional requirements and processes, test cases, manuals, and training material.
* Thorough understanding and experience of technology operations and service improvement.
* Team spirit, cooperating at all levels and working towards the achievement of company's goals.
* Strong planning, organizational and time management skills.
* Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Capability to listen and influence.
* High solution finding mindset and results orientation.
* Ability to be flexible in changes within a housing re-organisation.
* Strong customer service orientation.
* Proficient MS Office 365 user.
* Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft365.
* CBAP/CCBA or PMI-PBA certifications are highly appreciated.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, oral and written.
* Strong sense of responsibility.
* High level of integrity and professionalism.
* Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints to meet objectives.
We operate a hybrid working model and will require employees to work from an Allwyn office up to 3 days per week. These in-office days will be spread across the standard working week (Monday-Friday).
