We are seeking a motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team. This is an office-based role that requires a proactive individual who can work autonomously and manage their own workload efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial aspects of various maintenance and passive fire protection projects, ensuring that all costs are controlled and optimised.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Management: Prepare, manage, and control project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints.
2. Estimating and Valuations: Provide accurate estimates, valuations, and financial forecasts for both ongoing and upcoming projects, including cost assessments for passive fire protection work.
3. Tender Preparation and Evaluation: Review and analyse tenders and proposals, negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure favourable terms.
4. Risk Assessment and Reporting: Assess potential financial risks in projects, prepare risk mitigation strategies, and provide detailed reports on project finances.
5. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date project records, contracts, and other essential documentation.
6. Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and clients, to facilitate project progress.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within maintenance, construction, or passive fire protection sectors.
3. Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to analyse, interpret, and manage complex data.
4. Proficiency in relevant QS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and strong organisational skills.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
1. Membership with RICS or similar professional body (or working towards it).
2. Knowledge of current regulations and standards in passive fire protection and building maintenance.
Benefits:
1. Competitive salary ranging from £50,000 to £70,000 per annum, depending on experience. (This is negotiable)
