Our client is seeking an experienced Associate Landscape Architect to join their dynamic Masterplanning team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in landscape design, urban design, and large-scale landscape-led masterplanning projects. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker who can lead projects, manage client relationships, and contribute to developing sustainable and innovative design solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the landscape architectural design components of large-scale masterplanning projects, from concept through to completion.
2. Collaborate with architects, urban designers, and planners to develop integrated design solutions.
3. Provide strategic input on landscape architecture to shape the public realm and open space within masterplans.
4. Manage client relationships, ensuring the highest level of service and communication throughout project life cycles.
5. Mentor and support junior members of the landscape architecture team.
6. Oversee project delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
7. Prepare presentations, reports, and design documentation to communicate landscape concepts and plans to clients and stakeholders.
8. Stay current with industry trends, sustainability practices, and innovations in landscape architecture.
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture (or equivalent qualification).
2. Chartered status with the Landscape Institute (CMLI).
3. Significant experience in landscape architecture, with a focus on masterplanning and public realm design, wayfinding, and signage.
4. Proven track record of delivering large-scale, complex projects.
5. Strong technical proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modelling tools (e.g., SketchUp, Rhino).
6. Excellent knowledge of UK planning policies, sustainability practices, and environmental regulations.
7. Strong design and graphical presentation skills.
8. Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Desirable Skills:
1. Experience with BIM processes and workflows.
2. Knowledge of ecology, green infrastructure, and biodiversity principles in landscape design.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective client and stakeholder interaction.
4. Experience with net zero targets and sustainability.
5. Middle East and international project experience.
